7 Must Have Desk Essentials

If you have a job in a corporate setting, then you know that you can easily spend up to 9 hours a day at the office: not to mention deadlines, which usually require you to work extra hours. As a woman, it is very difficult to give your best at work without having the everyday essentials with you, at the office. Having said that, here is a list of the desk drawer essentials every woman must have:

1. Feminine Products

As a woman, you know that “disaster” can strike when you least expect it, and it is better to be safe than sorry! This is why it is important to have all the feminine products you need, including hand sanitizers, tissues, tampons or pads. Have a couple of them at the office, just in case you run out of stock. This way, you will prevent unpleasant situations.

2. Basic Body Care Products

Working for 8 hours straight can be difficult, especially during summer. Sweating is perfectly natural, as this is how our body naturally eliminates toxins. However, the smell of sweat is very unpleasant and it is certainly not lady-like, especially if you work as a secretary and you get in touch with people on a constant basis. Have a deodorant in your desk drawer all the time, just in case the a/c breaks down at the office.

3. Basic Medications

Headaches or menstrual pain can strike at any time. It has happened to all of us at least once, and we all know how bothersome pain can be. Besides this, you will find it impossible to focus on your tasks if there is a headache that keeps bugging you. This is why a couple of painkillers can save the day: both your day and the day of your co-workers! At the same time, a small first aid kit is also a great idea. Have some aspirin, antiseptic creams and towelettes, tweezers and band-aids in your desk drawers.

The moist towelettes are perfect for disinfecting your desk every once in a while, for pre and post-meal wash ups, for cleaning sticky coffee spills on your desk and so on. However, it is better to opt for individually wrapped antibacterial wipes, as they are easier to handle and they will not dry out either. In the end, it is better to have them and not need them, than vice-versa!
